Training Programmes

  • Sensitization Programme on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Teachers was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow on 1 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences committed against children and provision under POCSO Act, 2012; and develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act to protect child rights. Fifty-four participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Skill Training on Community Mobilization, Advocacy, Awareness & IEC Campaign on Issues Relating to Child Development was organized by Headquarters at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 1-5 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept and importance of community mobilization, participation, advocacy, awareness and IEC campaign; develop skills on techniques and methods of community mobilization, advocacy and awareness campaign; and strengthen the skills of participants on eliciting community participation using various techniques for the effective implementation of ICDS programme. Fifty participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Orientation Skill Training on Growth Monitoring and MCP Card was organized at Headquarters from 2-4 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept of New WHO Growth Charts and Use of MCP Card; orient participants on health and nutrition issues linked to MCP Card, its usage and implementation; and provide information about counseling techniques and new initiatives of Ministry of Women and Child Development. Twenty-four participants attended the programme.
  • Four Orientation Programme on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were organized at Headquarters from 2-4 January, 2018, Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 23-24 January, 2018 and 24-25 January, 2018 and at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 29-30 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different provisions of the scheme; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the scheme; introduce and gives hands on experience of PMMVY-Common Application System (CAS) for implementation of the scheme effectively; and provide further training to other ICDS functionaries in the district on PMMVY and CAS. In all one hundred and two participants attended the orientation programmes.
  • Skill Training Programme on Monitoring and Supervision Technique in ICDS for ICDS Functionaries was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 3-5 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: apprise the participants about the monitoring and supervision techniques; discuss the process involved in monitoring and supervision for result oriented implementation of services; and discuss the use of MPR for strengthening MIS in ICDS. Thirty participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Orientation Workshop on Adoption and Foster Care Guidelines for Chairpersons and Members of Child Welfare Committees was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 3-5 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participations regarding Adoption Regulations, 2016 and Foster Care Guidelines by Ministry of Women and Child Development; and discuss the role of CWC under Adoption and Foster Care. Twenty participants attended the orientation workshop.
  • Workshop on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016 for CWPOs of SJPUs of Delhi was organized at Headquarters from 4-5 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge of the participants about Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016; discuss role and functions of SJPUs and duties of police and other stakeholders under the act; share differential procedures to be followed in relation to Children in Conflict with Law and in relation to Children in Need of Care and Protection and procedures to be followed in cases of offences against children. Thirty-three participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Workshop on Child Protection for Functionaries of Open Shelters under ICPS was organized at Headquarters from 8-10 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realties; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act; discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children; and evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS. Thirty-eight participants attended the workshop.
  • Six Training of Trainers of Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) of Panchayati Raj Institutions were organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 3-5 January, 2018 and 8-10 January, 2018, at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 8-10 and 10-12 January, 2018, at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 16-18 January, 2018 and Headquarters organized at Odisha from 18-20 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: deliberate upon issues related to empowerment of women and functioning of PRIs; discuss schemes and legislations for women, children and other marginalized groups; describe processes of participatory planning in local governance; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for development; and enable women to identify their own leadership potential to contribute effectively as change agents. In all One hundred Seventy four participants attended the trainings.
  • Orientation Training on Establishing and Managing of a Voluntary Organisation was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 8-12 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: share the concept and relevance of voluntary action and social development in India; orient the participants about how to establish a voluntary organization, process of Institution building, administration and management; help them learn planning and designing project proposals; orient them about ways and means of resource mobilization from various sources and effective financial management; and discuss issues related to good governance, accountability and transparency in voluntary organisations. Eleven participants attended the orientation training.
  • Skill Training on Preparation of Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs)/ Teaching Aids for Instructors of AWTCs/ MLTCs was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 10-12 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize ICDS functionaries on the importance of the TLM in the Early Childhood Care and Development of Children; provide hands on experience on preparing TLM which is appropriate to foster all round development among children; and sensitize participants on the value of preparing TLM which are prepared from low cost/ no cost culturally available resources. Fourteen participants attended the skill training.
  • Orientation Programme For Legal Cum Probation Officers on Implementation of ICPS was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 9-11 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop understanding on various issues concerning children in need of care ad protection and in conflict with law, the existing Juvenile Justice System and the prevailing laws concerning children; orient the features of ICPS, its components and the role of various stakeholders under the JJ system and ICPS and their inter-linkages; discuss the role of POs (Non-Institutional Care) in implementation of ICPS in the district; build capacities to develop and implement child protection plan at the district level; and develop managerial competencies to carry out the responsibilities as Pos. Thirty-three participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Two Training of Trainers on Pradhan Matri Matru Vandana Yojana were organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow and Regional Centre, Indore from 12-13 January, 2018 and 24-25 January, 2018 respectively with the main objectives to: orient participants about PMMVY Scheme; acquaint participants about different Forms under the scheme; and provide skills to use CAS PMMVY software. In all Forty-four participants attended these training programmes.
  • Parental Workshop on various Academic and Psychosocial Issues of Children was organized at Regional Centre, Indore on 13 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize parents about various psychosocial issues children face; make parents familiar with the nature of various problems in children; and develop parent’s skill to play an active role in helping children to deal effectively with the various problems children face. Ninety-five participants attended the workshop.
  • Two Vertical Training Programmes of Block Level ICDS Functionaries for Quality Improvement in ICDS Programme were organized by Headquarters at Chhattisgarh and Regional Centre, Bengaluru at Tamil Nadu from 15-19 January, 2018 29 January – 2 February 2018 respectively with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS Services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services. In all Seventy-three participants attended these training programmes.
  • Two Vertical Learning Programme for ICDS Functionaries were organized by Regional Centre, Lucknow from 15-19 January, 2018 and 29 January-2 February, 2018 at Bihar and Jharkhand respectively from with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services. In all Seventy-six participants attended the vertical learning programmes.
  • Orientation Workshop on Child Rights and Child Protection for Magistrates and Members of JJBs and SJPUs was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 15-16 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop understanding among the participants about the situation of children in India and challenges faced by children for their holistic development; sensitize and orient participants to the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, & its Rule 2016 and ICPS; orient the participants about the functioning, roles and responsibilities of Juvenile Justice Boards& SJPUs; understand and facilitate mechanisms for speedy disposal of cases; discuss the efficacy of institutional & non-institutional services under the act; develop understanding of the concept of rehabilitation and social reintegration and to enable effective assessment of options in the best interest of children; and understand the role of different stakeholders under Act. Twenty-five participants attended the workshop.
  • Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 16 January-16 February , 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the trainee CDPOs/ACDPOs about ICDS programme –its philosophy, objectives, package of services and beneficiaries; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision, and management of ICDS project; discuss with them the recent developments and thrusts in ICDS programme; and share with them, the need, importance and strategies for convergence of services at various levels of implementation. Twelve participants attended the job training.
  • Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Principals and Teachers of Residential Schools was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 16-17 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences committed against children and provision under POCSO Act, 2012; develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act to protect child rights; and discuss the problems encountered in the implementation of the Act and skills required for protection of victims and sexual violence and child witness of sexual offences. Thirty-two participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Workshop on Child Rights and Protection for Agencies under JJ Act and ICPS was organized by Regional Centre, Guwahati at Manipur from 17-18 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept of child rights and protection in the context of UNCRC; enable the participants to understand the existing constitutional and legal provisions to ensure children their rights; sensitize them to the implication of the child rights approach in handling Children in Need of Care and Protection and Children in Conflict with Law; and facilitate them to develop viable strategies for coordination and convergence of services of various agencies. Forty-five participants attended the orientation workshop.
  • Consultation Meet on Child Mental Health was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 17-18 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: expand and disseminate knowledge on mental health problems of children amongst various stakeholders working with children; collaborate and explore effective strategies to meet the mental health challenges faced by children; and provide detailed and specific information about different institutions providing assessments and intervention services to the children with mental health problems. Fifty participants attended the consultation meet.
  • Workshop on Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016 for ICPS Functionaries was organized at Headquarters from 17-19 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge of the ICPS functionaries about salient features of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children Act), 2015 and Model Rules 2016; develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities in implementation of the Act and Rules; and discuss with them about various critical issues being faced by them in implementation of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016. Thirty participants attended the workshop.
  • Consultative Meet of State Officials on Status of Implementation of ECCE was organized at Headquarters from 18-19 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: review the implementation of Annual Contextualised ECCE Curriculum in the States/UTs; share the experiences of challenges faced by the States/UTs in implementation of the ECCE Curriculum; refresh the participants about the philosophy, principles and components of the National ECCE Policy, Curriculum Framework and Quality Standards; familiarise the participants with the State specific ECCE Curriculum and its roll out Plan across the States/UTs; and to discuss about the possible solutions strategies to meet the challenges and effectively roll out the annual contextualised curriculum in the States/UTs. Twenty-four participants attended the meet.
  • One Day Meeting of SCPS Staff on Implementation of ICPS was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru on 23 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: take stock of implementation of child protection system including ICPS and JJ Act in Southern States. Fourteen participants attended the Meeting.
  • Workshop on Implementation of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA), 2005 was organized at Headquarters from 29-30 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide insight on various provisions of the " Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005" in the context of gender based violence and discrimination against women; discuss the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders such as Protection Officers, Service Providers and Police Personnel's in making effective use of the PWDVA; and develop understanding on inter-agency response system for the effective implementation of the PWDVA, 2005 and suggest remedies. Twenty-three participants attended the workshop.
  • Sensitization Programme for ICDS officials and Trainers on Early Detection, Prevention and Management of Children with Special Needs was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 29-31 January, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different types of disabilities and disorders among children; develop their skills for early detection and prevention of disabilities among children; facilitate the participants in understanding the role of ICDS functionaries in prevention and management of disabilities; and make the participants understand about the integration of differently-abled children into the mainstream of society. Twenty-four participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Refresher Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 29 January-2 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: review the implementation of restructured & strengthened ICDS programme in the State with regard to its various aspects; provide a forum for sharing of experiences in implementing ICDS programme; apprise CDPOs/ ACDPOs about the recent developments and trends in ICDS programme; update their knowledge in the areas of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; and sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills. Fifteen participants attended the course.
  • Training of Instructors of AWTCs/MLTCs on Implementation of ECCE Curriculum was organized by Headquarters at Regional Centre, Indore from 29 January-2 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient instructors on recent developments in ECCE; develop their understanding on implementation of ECCED component under ICDS Mission; strengthen their skills on development and use of Teaching Leaning Materials; enhance the skills of participants in child assessment and maintenance of children portfolio; apprise them about the need and strategies for monitoring and implementation of ECCE curriculum; and strengthen knowledge, understanding and skills of participants on possible strategy for greater involvement of parents/community on effective implementation of ECCE Curriculum. Fifteen participants attended the training.

  • Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized at Headquarters from 1-28 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the trainee CDPOs/ACDPOs about ICDS programme –its philosophy, objectives, package of services and beneficiaries; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision, and management of ICDS project; discuss with them the recent developments and thrusts in ICDS programme; and share with them, the need, importance and strategies for convergence of services at various levels of implementation. Twenty-seven participants attended the job training.
  • Sensitization Programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Civil Society Organizations and ICDS Functionaries was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 1-2 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: appraise the participants about objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and different components of Abhiyan; discuss role and responsibilities of voluntary organizations and ICDS functionaries in the Abhiyan; and enable the participants to undertake community mobilization initiatives for thrir involvement and participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Twenty-six participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Regional Cross Learning Meet on Best Practices in ICDS was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 1-2 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: identify good practices and innovations that have been implemented within ICDS in different States and with different partners; documentation of these potential best practices for their replication and scaling up in different locations and suggest ways and system for replication of these good practices at a larger level. Thirty-three participants attended the meet.
  • Sensitization Programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Work Place for Members of Sexual Harassment Committees was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 5-6 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize participants regarding different provisions of Act; build perspective on women friendly work environment; and appraise the modalities, mechanisms and procedure of redressal under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act. Thirty-five participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on POCSO Act 2012 for Legal cum Probation Officers/Social Workers was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 5-6 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on the issues of child sexual abuse; orient them to the salient features of the POCSO Act, 2012; and apprise them on the role and responsibilities of the Legal cum Probation Officers/Social Workers/Case Workers and the different stakeholders in providing relief to the children survivors of sexual abuse. Thirty-six participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Three Refresher Courses for CDPOs/ACDPOs were organized by Headquarters from 5-9 February, 2018 and 19-23 February, 2018 and Regional Centre, Guwahati from 19-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: update the participants, their knowledge in the area of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; appraise them about the recent developments in ICDS programme; review the implementation of ICDS scheme with regard to its various aspects; sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills; provide a forum for sharing of experiences to the participants; and assess skill specific training needs of CDPOs/ACDPOs, if any. In all Thirty-three participants attended these courses.
  • Orientation training on Supportive Interventions for Children with Learning and Behavioural Problems was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 5-9 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: enable the teachers to understand the challenges faced by children in contemporary society and the role of schools in supporting their development; orient them to the various learning and behavioural difficulties in children; enhance the ability of the teachers to identify early symptoms of learning and behaviour problems in children; and critically apprise them with the strategies to promote emotional well-being and achievement in children. Thirty-nine participants attended the orientation training.
  • Three Vertical Training Programmes of Block Level ICDS Functionaries for Quality Improvement in ICDS Programme were organized by Regional Centre, Bengaluru at Telangana and Karnataka from 5-9 February, 2018, Regional Centre, Indore at Maharashtra from 5-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs, supervisors, AWWs to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS and Health functionaries at project level for quality improvement in Anganawadi services; work jointly and formulate action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of services. In all One hundred forty three participants attended these training programmes.
  • Orientation Consultation Meet on Innovations and Best Practices in ICDS was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 6-7 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: share the best practices in use and innovations adapted by Southern States in delivery of quality service in ICDS; elicit information on the impact of best practices and innovation on the wellbeing of the beneficiaries of ICDS; identify the ICT innovations taken up by the Southern States in improving the implementation of ICDS Scheme. Sixteen participants attended the meet.
  • Workshop for Police Personnel (Child Welfare Police Officers) on Child Protection was organized by Headquarters in Bhubaneswar from 6-7 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss the issues pertaining to Child Protection; share information about the implementation of various legislation concerning children and revised integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS); and evolve strategies for effective child protection services with support of existing child protection mechanisms. Thirty-one participants attended the workshop.
  • Consultation Meet on Safety and Security of Women in Public Places was organized by Headquarters at Kerala from 6-7 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss threats to safety and security of women in public places and its consequences; share best practices in ensuring safety and security of women in public places; discuss the role of various government agencies and voluntary organizations prevention of crimes against women in public places; and evolve strategies to combat violence against women in Public Places. One hundred eleven participants attended the meet.
  • Skill Training for Trainers on Behaviour Change Communication was organized at Headquarters from 7-9 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the ICDS functionaries to the principles of Social and Behaviour Change Communication and setting of communication objectives for ICDS; develop skills for effective value addition in communication process; enable trainees to develop communication materials for behaviour change; and enrich the participants develop need based model for social and behaviour change communication in their respective work places. Nineteen participants attended the skill training.
  • Orientation Programme on Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis in Social Sciences was organized by Regional Centre, Indore from 7-9 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient participants on latest trends in use of research methodology and statistical analysis in social sciences; enhance their knowledge and skill on different components of research methodology; and sharpen their understanding on appropriate use of statistical tools and techniques. Fifty-four participants attended the orientation programme.
  • State Level Review Meet of ICDS Functionaries on Implementation of Anganwadi Services was organized by Headquarters at Kerala on 8 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide a common platform for exchange of ideas concerning implementation of ICDS. Two participants attended the meet; share the constraints and challenges faced by State Government in respect of ICDS implementation; review the State Training Action Plans (STRAPs) and identify the training gaps; discuss and share innovations and best practices of the State for wider dissemination and analyze the problems hindering success in ICDS programme implementation. Forty-two participants attended the review meet.
  • Training of State/UT Level Master Trainers on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)-Common Application Software (CAS) was organized at Headquarters from 12-13 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different provisions of the scheme; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the scheme; introduce and gives hands on experience of PMMVY-Common Application System (CAS) MIS software for implementation of the scheme effectively. Forty-seven participants attended the training programme.
  • Skill Training for Principals and Instructors of AWTCs / MLTCs on NHED Methods and Techniques was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 12-16 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the need and importance of organizing NHED for communities; strengthen knowledge and skill of the Principals and Instructors on organizing and imparting effective NHEd; acquaint trainees with the emerging methods and techniques of NHED and preparation and use of NHED material for an effective organization of NHEd sessions in AWCs; and enable the participants to impart need based training to the grass root functionaries of ICDS on NHEd. Twenty-two participants attended the skill training.
  • Orientation for CDPOs on Child Health and Nutrition Programmes Implemented through National Health Mission, Assam was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 12-13 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the CDPOs on different Child Health and Nutrition Programmes implemented through National Health Mission, Assam; and make them aware about the need and importance of convergence in delivering of nutrition and health services for improving the nutritional and health status of women and children. Twenty-one participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Orientation Programme for ICDS functionaries on Nutrition and Healthcare of Children was organized at Headquarters from 15-17 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the ICDS functionaries on health and nutrition issues of Children; train the functionaries on importance of Growth Monitoring; impart technical knowledge on Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices; demonstrate counseling skills for counselling with caregivers; orient on prevention and management of malnutrition. Nine participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Parental Workshop on “Adolescents of Today and Need of Parental Support in Building Their Future” was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati on 17 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop an understanding about the needs of adolescence and holistic development of the adolescent children; and help parents to help their children to cope up with the physical, emotional and mental changes during this period for optimum development. Eighty-two participants attended the workshop.
  • Sensitization Programme on Women and Child Trafficking for Police Personals and Railway Personals was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 19-20 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize participants about women and child trafficking in country; aware participants about special legal provisions and schemes for women and children for controlling trafficking; and role and responsibilities of police personals and railway personals for prevention of trafficking. Forty-three participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Orientation on Implementation of ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005’ for Functionaries of Government and Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 19-21 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants on locus and manifestation of gender-based violence; discuss policies and legislative measures to curb atrocities against women, especially on domestic violence; analyze the problems and work out strategies for addressing the problem of domestic violence of women; and discuss existing mechanisms/support services and offer suggestions towards strengthening them. Thirty-two participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Induction Training for Counsellors/Social Workers of DCPUs was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 19-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop understanding among the participants about the situation of children in India and challenges faced by children for their holistic development; sensitize and orient participants to the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, & its Rule 2016 and ICPS; orient the participants about the functioning, roles and responsibilities of Social Workers and Counselors; understand and facilitate mechanisms for speedy disposal of cases; discuss the efficacy of institutional & non-institutional services under the Act; develop understanding of the concept of rehabilitation and social reintegration and to enable effective assessment of options in the best interest of children and; understand the role of different stakeholders under Act. Twenty-two participants attended the induction training programme.
  • Orientation Course for CDPOs on Prevention of Malnutrition among Women and Children was organized by Headquarters at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 19-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide the participants an overview of the current nutrition scenario and issues relating to maternal and child under nutrition; provide them the appropriate and adequate knowledge on techniques and skills to prevent malnutrition in mothers and children; and apprise them of their roles and responsibilities in creating awareness in order to curb the problem of malnutrition among women and children in the country. Twenty-three participants attended the orientation course.
  • Orientation Programme on Fund Raising Techniques and Resource Management for Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 19-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: acquaint the representatives of Voluntary organizations to fund raising know-how and techniques; impart knowledge on need for developing internal controls and accounting systems for effective utilization and management of funds and discuss income tax rules and procedures. Twenty-three participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Vertical Learning Programme for ICDS Functionaries was organized by Regional Centre, Lucknow at Andaman & Nicobar from 19-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services. Forty-two participants attended the vertical programme.
  • Workshop on Gender Sensitization and Personality Development for Adolescent Boys was organized by Regional Centre, Bengaluru at Kamrup on 20 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the adolescent boys on gender issues; develop an understanding about personality development; and provide a platform for expressing their views on the issues relating to gender, personality development etc. One hundred six participants attended the workshop.
  • Skill Training on ECCE for DPOs/CDPOs was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 19-20 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop a better understanding of the concepts of early childhood years, ECD, ECCD, ECCE and linkages with one another among the trainees; make them understand the issues relating to ECCE in the light of national policy of ECCE and restructured ICDS, and enable the Instructors to impart effective training on ECCE and guide the AWWs and Supervisors for proper delivery of ECCE programme to ensure optimum early childhood development in children. Fifteen participants attended the skill training.
  • Training of Medical Officers and Frontline Health Workers on IYCF was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 20-22 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient participants on IYCF practices; orient on SBCC tools; enable the participants to sensitize the primary and secondary care givers of Pregnant Women and New Born Children about IYCF practices to curb malnutrition and mortality. Thirty-five participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Prevention of Trafficking of Women & Children was organized by Headquarters at Guwahati from 20-23 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the nature and magnitude of trafficking of women and children; share and review constitutional provisions and legal framework to safeguarding women; discuss and analyze the role of Government and NGOs to address the problem of trafficking; and evolve a strategy for prevention, protection and rehabilitation of women/child survivors of trafficking. Twenty-two participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Sensitization Training on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act & Rules, 2012 for Functionaries of ICPS and CCIs was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 26-27 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences being committed against children and consequent trauma faced by them; enhance the knowledge of the participants about salient features of POCSO Act, 2012; develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act; and make them understand about different support and rehabilitation services available for victims of sexual offences under POCSO Act & Rules, 2012. Thirty-two participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Behaviour Change Communication on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Government functionaries and Voluntary Organisations was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 26-28 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: apprise participants on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; orient the participants on the principles of Behaviour Change Communication; develop skills for effective value addition of communication process for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; and enrich the participants to develop need based model for social and behavior change communication in their respective work places. Thirteen participants attended the programme.
  • Sensitisation Programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for Panchyati Raj Instructions (PRIs) was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 27-28 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitise participants towards prevention of gender biased sex selective elimination; enable participants to develop effective strategy for survival and protection of the girl child; sensitise participants to work towards ensuring education and participation of the girl child. Thirty-four participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Consultative Meet on Inclusive and Sustainable Child DevelopmentOpportunities and Challenges was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 27-28 February, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss the existing strategies/models for Child Development in India; explore the challenges and opportunities in effective implementation of strategies; and discuss the points of convergent actions required for promotion of girl child survival. Twenty participants attended the meet.
  • Orientation Programme for Social Workers and Counsellors on Working with Children was organized at Bengaluru from 28 February- 2 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants on issues relating to child care protection and child rights; discuss the constitution a guarantee, programmes and services for children under various schemes of the Government; enhance the communication and counselling skills of participants in working with children; discuss the strategies and challenges in dealing with the children.   • The Executive Council and General Body Meeting of the Institute was held on 20/03/2018 under the chairmanship of Shri. Rakesh Srivastava, Secretary, MWCD. The General Body Meeting was chaired by Dr. Virendra Kumar, MOS, MWCD. The Executive Council approved the Annual Report of the Institute for the year 2016-17 and Work Plan 2018-19 and pondered upon various other agenda items.
Training Programmes
  • Orientation Programme on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was organized at Headquarters from 5-6 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different provisions of the scheme; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the scheme; introduce and give hands on experience of PMMVY-Common Application System (CAS) for implementation of the scheme effectively; and provide further training to other ICDS functionaries in the district on PMMVY and CAS. Twenty-four participants attended the programme.
  • Refresher Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized at Headquarters from 5-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: update the participants, their knowledge in the area of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; appraise them about the recent developments in ICDS programme; review the implementation of ICDS scheme with regard to its various aspects; sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills; provide a forum for sharing of experiences to the participants; and assess skill specific training needs of CDPOs/ACDPOs, if any. Twenty-three participants attended the refresher course.
  • Orientation Programme on Survey, Research Techniques and Documentation for Functionaries of Government and Voluntary Organization was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru from 5-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about defining the research problem and designing survey research; appraise the participants about the conceptual framework of survey research; discuss the different techniques for conducting survey; and elucidate the simple statistical techniques to be used for data analysis and documentation of the report. Nineteen participants attended the programme.
  • Skill training programme on Nutritional Care and Counseling for Instructors of AWTCs/ MLTCs was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 5-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the Instructors to the recent initiatives on Nutrition component of Restructured ICDS; equip the Instructors with the methods and techniques of counseling on maternal and child care and nutrition; and enable the Instructors to act as trainer for AWWs/Supervisors on nutrition care and counseling. Twenty-four participants attended the skill training.
  • Orientation Training on Project formulation and Resource Management for Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 4-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge and understanding of the participants in project formulation , techniques of fund raising and resource management; enable them to understand the need to reduce their dependency on donor agencies by developing necessary skills to adopt a sustainable alternatives for programme implementation; develop skills in cost estimation and working out mechanisms for monitoring, evaluation and sustainability of a project; and make the participants to be able to manage their financial matters efficiently and to get acquainted with the legal framework for voluntary organization. Twenty-two participants attended the orientation training.

  • Orientation Programme on Management of Malnutrition for Functionaries of ICDS and NRHM of Western States was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 6-9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize participants about severity and magnitude of malnutrition among women and children with emphasis on tribal community; orient them about programmes and schemes of Government under NHM/ICDS with special reference to Malnutrition/Early childhood disabilities; develop coordination efforts/skills in convergence of Health Services/ICDS; and develop a strategy on effective management of joint training/home visits/joint counseling for positive behavioral change in families. Sixteen participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Awareness Camp on Empowering Women for Self Defense for School/College Girls was organized at Regional Centre, Indore on 8 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize participants on gender discrimination and gender based violence; aware participants on different constitutional provisions and legal regulation for protection of women (PWDV Act, 2005, POCSO Act 2012 etc.); sensitise participants on potential threats and rescue management delivery system for women in danger; and discuss role and responsibilities of different stakeholders for protection of women. Fifty-one participants attended the camp.

  • Orientation Workshop on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention and Redressal) Act, 2013 for the Officials of N.F. Railways was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati on 9 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the officials of N.F Railways to the nature and trends of sexual harassment in work places; orient the participants to the salient features and provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the relevant rules; and make them aware about the modalities, mechanisms and procedure of redressal under the Act. Forty-six participants attended the orientation workshop.
  • Training of Masters Trainers of Elected Women Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institute was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 8-10 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: deliberate upon issues related to empowerment of women and functioning of PRIs; discuss schemes and legislations for women, children and other marginalized groups; describe processes of participatory planning in local governance; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for development; and enable women to identify their own leadership potential to contribute effectively as change agents. Twenty-seven participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Course on Management of Children Home/Child Care Institutions for Functionaries of Child Care Institutions was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 12-14 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop adequate understanding of various aspects of management of Child Care Institutions; sensitize them to developmentally appropriate early childhood care and development services particularly in relation to children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with law; facilitate them to develop viable strategies to render quality care to institutionalized children; and help the participants to make qualitative assessment of the services provided to children in the Child Care Institutions. Thirty-five participants attended the orientation course.
  • Regional Workshop on Promoting Coordinated and Convergent Action in ICDS was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 12-13 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss the need and importance of ICDS through various perspectives; identify and discuss the challenges in providing comprehensive care and education in early years of life; and enable them to work out the ways to minimize the challenges through coordination and convergence. Thirty-four participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Training on Schemes/Programmes of Ministry of Women and Child Development for Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 12-14 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the understanding of participants and to sensitize them about situation of women and children; impart knowledge about administrative machinery for advancement of women; discuss modalities for implementation of schemes; and orient them about their roles and responsibilities in implementation of schemes at grass root level. Twenty-one participants attended the orientation training.
  • Sensitization Programme on Combating Violence against Women and Girls was organized at Headquarters from 12-15 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop clear perspective among participants about gender based violence; provide insight on the policies, existing support services and legal safeguards for women and girls to curb the problem; provide a forum for sharing best practices to provide services to survivors of violence including counseling, livelihood and rehabilitation; and evolve strategies for combating violence against women and girls.   • Skill Training for Instructors of AWTC /MLTC on Preparation of Nutrition and Health Education Kit was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 14-16 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: appraise trainees about the recent updates and development in the field of nutrition and health; strengthen the understanding of participants by organizing need based Nutrition & Health education sessions; and strengthen the skills of participants on preparation of theme based low / no cost NHEd material to for effective organization of NHEd sessions in AWCs. Seventeen participants attended the skill training.
  • Parental Workshop on various Academic and Psychosocial Issues of Children was organized at Regional Centre, Indore on 15 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize parents about various psychosocial issues children face; make parents familiar with the nature of various problems in children; and develop parent’s skill to play an active role in helping children to deal effectively with the various problems children face. One-hundred twenty five participants attended the workshop.
  • Sensitization Programme on Beti Bachao & Beti Padhao for ICDS Officials was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 15-16 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the officials about the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme of MWCD, GOI; acquaint them with their role and responsibilities for effective implementation of schemes in their projects; and develop an insight of the participants on the importance of networking and convergence of services among different agencies for ensuring survival and development of girl child. Seventeen participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Orientation Workshop for CHILDLINE Partners of Assam was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 15-16 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept of child rights and protection in the context of UNCRC; enable the participants to understand the existing constitutional and legal provisions to ensure children their rights; sensitize them to the implication of the child rights approach in handling children in Need of Care and Protection and Children in Conflict with Law; and facilitate them to develop viable strategies for coordination and convergence of services of various agencies. Thirty-four participants attended the orientation workshop.
  • Orientation Programme on Monitoring, Supervision and Revised MIS in ICDS for the Associate Consultants and Projects Assistants of Central Monitoring Unit (CMU) was organized at Headquarters from 19-20 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide an overview of ICDS Scheme and the concept of monitoring & supervision; orient the participants on the revised MIS in ICDS; and equip them with skills in data collection, data management and analysis. Eleven participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Orientation Training on PMMVY - CAS was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 19-20 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the Master Trainers about different provisions of the scheme; discuss the role and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the scheme; and introduce and give hands on experience of PMMVY – Common Application System (CAS) and MIS software for implementation of the scheme effectively.   • Orientation Training on Establishing and Managing a Voluntary Organization for the Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized at Headquarters from 19-23 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants towards establishing a voluntary organization, process of institution building, and its administration and management; help them to learn planning and designing project proposals ways and means of resource mobilization; discuss issues related to good governance, accountability and transparency in voluntary organizations. Thirty participants attended the workshop.
  • Workshop on Critical Issues in Implementation of ICPS for State Level Functionaries of ICPS was organized at Headquarters from 20-21 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide a common platform for exchange of ideas pertaining to child protection; discuss the status of implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and ICPS in the States; share experiences and challenges faced by functionaries of SCPS & SARA in implementation of ICPS; and come out with effective strategies for effective implementation of ICPS in States. Twenty- eight participants attended the workshop.
  • Regional Meet on Best Practices concerning Child Rights and Child Protection was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 20-21 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about Juvenile Justice System in India; reviewing legislations and discuss threats in child rights and child protection; orientation of best practices concerning to child rights and child protection; and discuss on replication of best practices.   • Workshop for Stakeholders on Prevention of Drug & Substance Abuse was organized by Regional Centre, Guwahati at Gangtok, Sikkim from 21-22 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the stakeholders on consequences of drug and substance abuse; help them to find out ways and means of prevention and management of drug and substance abuse; and provide a forum for the stakeholders to strengthen the convergence.   • Induction Training for Newly Appointed Supervisors of ICDS was organized at Headquarters from 21-24 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient participants about the AW services of Umbrella ICDS programme – its goal & objectives, package of services and coverage of beneficiaries; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision and management of ICDS project; appraise participants about the recent developments including Re-structuring and Strengthening of ICDS including National Framework of ECCE and develop skills required for guiding grassroots level functionaries in ECCE/PSE, Health & Nutrition, Community Participation, Leadership, Communication, Monitoring & Supportive Supervision in ICDS programme. Twenty-two participants attended the training.
  • Parent Workshop of Child Care Centre (CCC) on Teaching Learning Material/Play Material for Pre-schoolers was organized at Headquarters on 23 March, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss and demonstrate importance of teaching learning material for children; and deliberate on the points that are essential for designing of teaching and learning material for 3-4 years children. Sixteen participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Course for Stakeholders Dealing in ICDS on Prevention of Malnutrition in Women & Children for High Burdened Districts (HBD) was organized at Headquarters from 26-28 March, 2018 provide the participants an overview of the current nutrition scenario specifically in all regions and issues relating to maternal and child under nutrition; provide them the appropriate and adequate knowledge on techniques and skills to prevent malnutrition in mothers and children; and apprise them of their roles and responsibilities in creating awareness in order to curb the problem of malnutrition among women and children in the country with focus on entire India. Twenty-nine participants attended the course.
  • Four Training Programmes of Elected Women EWRs of Panchayati Raj Institute were organized for the district of Pilibhit were organized simultaneously at District Institute of Rural Development, Pilibhit (DIRD) from 28–30 March 2018 with the main objectives to: deliberate upon issues related to empowerment of women and functioning of PRIs; discuss schemes and legislations for women, children and other marginalized groups; describe processes of participatory planning in local governance; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for development; and enable women to identify their own leadership potential to contribute effectively as change agents. The training programme broadly covered details regarding Panchayati Raj System, roles and responsibilities of Elected Representatives, gender issues, Laws for Protection of the vulnerable, Government schemes and programmes, Participatory Planning, Public Works, Information Communication Technology and Leadership Skills. The concluding session was chaired by Smt. Menaka Sanjay Gandhi, Hon’ble Minister of Women and Child Development, Government of India in the presence of Shri M.A. Imam, Director, NIPCCD; Dr Akhilesh Kumar Mishra, IAS, District Magistrate, Pilibhit and Dr. Dinesh Kumar Singh, IAS, Chief Development Officer, Pilibhit. During the concluding session, Hon’ble Minister of WCD recognised the challenges and practical difficulties faced by women in political spaces across the country and expressed her agony over the fact that majority of the women sarpanches of Gram Sabhas are themselves behind the ghunghats (veils) both physically and figuratively. The Minister then expressed her concern over the issue of malnutrition among children and the plight of schools in the district of Pilibhit. Elaborating upon various social initiatives of the government through the cycle of life starting from pregnancy to the old age, Hon’ble Minister urged upon EWRs to involve themselves fully not only in effectual implementation of these programmes but also in effectively monitoring them. In all, 260 EWRs attended these programmes.

  • Sensitization Programme for School Officials of Western States on Mental Health of Children was Organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 26-27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: help the school officials to understand the concept of mental health and their implications on children, familiarize the school officials with the various mental health issues children face; and acquaint them with various intervention strategies to be adopted for fostering mental health in children. Forty participants attended the programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Prevention of Child Labour for the Officials of Education Department and Representatives of Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 9-11 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the officials of Education Department and Representatives of NGOs to the problem of child labour; make the participants aware about existing Policies and legislative measures and programmes pertaining to protection of interest of working children; and enable them to identify the high risk children and draw out need based contextual planning to ensure education. Twenty-nine participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Skill Training programme on ECCE for Supervisors was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 9-13 April, 2018 with the main objectives to; acquaint the ICDS functionaries to the new developments in the field of ECCE including the National ECCE policy; review the services for developing an understanding of the current situation; and build the capacity of supervisors to act as a master trainer and effectively guide the grass root level functionaries on ECCD component for proper implementation of ECCE Curriculum. Fifty-two participants attended the training programme.
  • Vertical Training Programme of Block Level ICDS Functionaries for Quality Improvement in Anganwadi Services was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 23-27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and supervisors to act as a Master Trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality.   • Parental Workshop on Adolescents of Today and Need for Support in Building Their Future was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati on 24 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: develop an understanding about the needs of adolescence and holistic development of the adolescent children; and help parents and teachers to help their children to cope up with the physical, emotional and mental changes during this period for optimum development. One hundred and thirteen participants attended the workshop.
  • Training on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) for ICDS Functionaries was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 4-5 April, 2018 at with the main objectives to: orient participants about PMMVY scheme; acquaint participants about different Forms under the scheme; and provide skills to use CAS PMMVY software. Twenty-three participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Management of Neonatal and Childhood Illnesses for Functionaries of Specialized Adoption Agencies was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 10-12 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: appraise the participants about the neonatal and childhood illnesses; discuss their role and responsibilities in management of neonatal and childhood illnesses; and prepare action plan in prevention and management of Neonatal and childhood illnesses. Thirty-five participants attended the orientation training.
  • Training Programme on Gender Sensitization for Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 25-27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: familiarize the participants with policies/programmes on women's development; sensitize the participants on gender issues; and discuss the role of voluntary organizations in women's empowerment. Twenty-three participants attended the programme.
  • Vertical Training Programme of Block Level Functionaries of Anganwadi Services under Umbrella ICDS Quality Improvement in Anganwadi Services was organized at Himachal Pradesh by Headquarters from 16-20, April, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a Master Trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS Services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services.   • Training on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) for ICDS Functionaries was organized at Headquarters from 23 – 27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the technical knowledge on Infant and Young Child Feeding; build counseling skills on exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding; learn growth monitoring and measuring; and practice IYCF counseling with emphasis on correct positioning, helping mothers to breast feed through field practice. Thirty-nine participants attended the training programme.
  • Refresher Course for CDPOs was organized at Headquarters from 9-13 April,2018 with the main objectives to: update the participants, their knowledge in the area of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; appraise them about the recent developments in ICDS programme; review the implementation of ICDS scheme with regard to its various aspects; sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills; provide a forum for sharing of experiences to the participants; and assess skill specific training needs of CDPOs, if any. Thirty-three participants attended the course.
  • Review cum Contact Training Programme on e – Learning for CDPOs of Tamil Nadu was organized at Tamil Nadu by Headquarters from 11-13 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient participants about the use of e-learning programme for ICDS functionaries; provide hands on experience on e-learning programme to the CDPOs; bridge the learning gap and build their confidence, to use e-learning mode of training; and identify Master Trainers in e-learning programme for future. Fifty participants attended the review meet.
  • Vertical Training for Care of New born and Infant and Young Child Feeding was organized at Headquarters from 9 – 13 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the counseling skills of ICDS functionaries on IYCF; impart technical knowledge on Care of New Born and Infant and Young Child Feeding Practices; demonstrate IYCF counseling and problem solving skills for breastfeeding and correct complementary feeding practices; and impart skills for growth monitoring and counseling with usage of Mother and Child Protection card. Thirty-one participants attended the programme.
  • Training Programme on Ensuring Food Safety and Maintaining Food Safety Standards in Supplementary Nutrition in ICDS was organized at Headquarters from 16-18 April 2018 with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop an understanding of safe food handling practices highlighting its importance in health and nutrition wellbeing; orient the participants to the food safety measures for SNP of ICDS; get an insight into food fortification in ICDS; get an insight into food adulteration and the laws regulating the food safety; and discuss the role of ICDS functionaries in ensuring food safety at AWCs. Thirty participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Japanese Encephalitis/Acute Encephalitis Syndrome for ICDS Functionaries was organized at Headquarters from 26-27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: discuss the major causes, signs and symptoms, prevention and management of JE/AES; prepare action plans and micro planning procedures for combating JE/AES at various levels; discuss roles and responsibilities of different Ministries in prevention of JE/AES and community based management of underweight children. Seventeen participants were attended the programme.
  • Orientation Course on Management of Malnutrition for Functionaries of ICDS/ NHM/ Civil Society Organizations was Organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati by Headquarters from 23-27 April, 2018 with the main objectives to: provide the participants an overview of the current nutrition scenario specifically in eastern and north eastern regions and issues relating to maternal and child under nutrition; provide them the appropriate and adequate knowledge on techniques and skills to prevent malnutrition in mothers and children; and apprise them of their roles and responsibilities in creating awareness in order to curb the problem of malnutrition among women and children in the country with focus on eastern and north eastern regions of India. Thirty-one participants attended the course.

  • Two Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs were organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow and Guwahati from 1-30, May 2018 and 2-31 May, 2018 respectively with the main objectives to: orient the trainee CDPOs/ACDPOs about ICDS programme– its philosophy, objectives, package of services and beneficiaries; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision, and management of ICDS project; discuss with them the recent developments and thrusts in ICDS programme; and share with them, the need, importance and strategies for convergence of services at various levels of implementation. In all, forty eight participants attended both courses.
  • Skill Training on PMMVY was organized at Headquarters from 2-3, May, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different provisions of the Scheme; discuss roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the Scheme; deliberate and list out problems of PMMVY-Common Application System (CAS) MIS software being implemented in the Scheme. Eighteen participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Workshop on Child Related issues for Parents and other Stakeholders (CGC) was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru on 3rd May, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the parent’s teachers and School Counselors on the various psychosocial issues relating to children; enhance the skills of stakeholders for better management of children; and capacitate them to deal with the negative emotions among children. Thirty six participants attended the workshop.

  • Training Programme on Legislations related to Children and Recent Development in Child Rights and Child Protection for the Chairperson and Members of CWCs was organized at Regional Centre, Lucknow from 7-9, May 2018 with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop understanding on various issues concerning children in need of care and protection and in conflict with law; the existing Juvenile Justice System and the prevailing laws concerning children; orient the participants regarding recent developments in child rights and child protection; and discuss the role of Chairperson and Members of Child Welfare Committees in implementation of various legislations. Fourteen participants attended the programme.
  • Orientation Training on Fund Raising and Resource Management for Voluntary Organizations was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 7-11 May, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge and understanding of the representatives of NGOs on the techniques of fund raising and resource management; enable them to understand the need to reduce their dependency on donor agencies by developing necessary skills to adopt a sustainable alternative for programme implementation; and enable participants to manage their financial matters efficiently and get acquainted with the legal framework for voluntary organization. Twenty nine participants attended the orientation training programme.
  • Skill Development Training on Promoting Small Savings, Production, Marketing and Income Generation activities Using Indigenous Resources for Civil Society Organizations of Western States was organized at Regional Centre, Indore from 8-11 May, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient participants about need and importance of Small Savings for women groups; impart skills on installation of small/medium production units; explore networking/marketing avenues; develop their capacity in convergence with vocational institutions and Anganwadi Services; and enhance capabilities of participants on using PLA technique for promoting community based indigenous resources. Twenty one participants attended the programme.
  • Orientation Training for the Functionaries of One Stop Centre and Women Helpline was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 14-15 May , 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants to magnitude, causes, nature and manifestation of violence against women in India with special reference to eastern region; orient the participants on the One Stop Centre Scheme and Women Helpline and other existing support services for women in distress; orient the participants on Psycho-social Support for Violence Affected Women and Ethical Guidelines for Counseling; and appraise the participants about the role and responsibilities of different stakeholders. Thirty four participants attended the training programme.
  • Two Orientation Training Programmes on Child Rights & Protection for the Functionaries of CCIs (Superintendent, Case Worker, Probation Officer, Welfare Officer, Coordinator, etc.) were organized at Headquarters and Regional Centre Guwahati from 14-18 May, 2018 and 21-25 May, 2018 respectively with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012; discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children, and, evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS. In all, forty nine participants attended both the orientation training programmes.
  • Three Trainings of Master Trainers on Child Protection were organized at Headquarters and Regional Centres Indore and Bengaluru from 14-25 May, 2018 (two programmes) and 21 May – 1 June, 2018 respectively with the main objectives to: orient the participants about various provisions under JJ System & ICPS; discuss the policies, schemes and legislations concerning children; enable them their roles and responsibilities under the Schemes, legislations & guidelines; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for child protection; describe implementing strategies under ICPS and, sensitize them on research & documentation, financial rules, audit & office procedures and to discuss innovative & good practices adopted by States on Child Protection. In all, one hundred & four participants attended all the three Master trainers programmes.
  • Training Programme on Counselling Skills for Counsellors of Institutions Providing Care to Distressed Women was organized at Regional Centre, Guwahati from 21-25 May, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about magnitude, causes, nature and manifestation of violence against women in India with special reference to eastern region; develop understanding about the trauma faced by distressed women; orient the participants to a wider exposure of the skills and techniques of counseling for providing psycho-social support to distressed women; provide insight on the policies, existing support services for women in distress; and promote networking among NGOs and institutions and legal safeguards for women in distress. Twenty seven participants attended the training programme.
  • Two Vertical Training Programmes of Block Level Anganwadi Services Scheme (ASS) Functionaries for Quality Improvement in Anganwadi Services were organized at Telangana by Regional Centre, Bengaluru and Headquarters at Haryana from 21-25 May, 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a Master Trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS Services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services.   • Certificate Course on Child and Adolescent Counselling was organized at Headquarters from 21 May 2018 – 14 June 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the practitioners and counsellors with the strategies that enhance parental resources to support their children with developmental disorders, enable the Teachers to understand the challenges of children in contemporary society and the role of schools in supporting their development, critically apprise them with the strategies to promote emotional well-being and achievement in children so that the children are able to meet developmental goals, orient them to the various learning and behavior difficulties in children and the special needs of children in difficult situations, enhance the ability of the Teachers to identify early symptoms of learning and behavior problems in children and carry out informal assessments, provide comprehensive skills in counselling children and families for promoting emotional wellbeing of children and provide skills in carrying out awareness and sensitization workshops for Teachers and Parents on significant mental health concerns relating to children and growing up. Twenty three participants attended the certificate course.
  • Sensitization Programme on Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013 Services was organized at Headquarters from 24-25 May, 2018 with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants to aspects related to addressing complaints regarding sexual harassment and spreading awareness about gender-related issues; and functioning of the internal Complaints Committee. One hundred twenty two participants attended the programme in four batches.
  • Sensitization Programme on Nutritional Assessment of Children in Anganwadi Services Scheme was organized at Regional Centre, Bengaluru on 28 May 2018 with the main objectives to: apprise the participants on Importance of Nutritional Status of Children; and update their Knowledge on Importance of Methods of nutritional assessment such as stunting, wasting in children, enhancing their skills by providing classroom practice exercises on various nutritional assessment tools. Orientation Programme for Functionaries of Voluntary Organisations on Monitoring and Evaluation of Developmental Programmes for Women and Children was organized at Headquarters from 28 May-1 June, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept and importance of monitoring and evaluation in social development programmes; apprise the participants to the latest methods/ techniques of monitoring and evaluation of the programmes; and enhance the skills of participants for quality monitoring and supervision of women and child development programmes. Important Activities
  • The Institute organized 4th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2018 at the behest of Ministry of Women and Child Development. Nearly 300 (regular, contractual temporary staff in the Hqrs, and Regional Centres) participated in the yoga held in the lawn of the Institute at 7.00 a.m. The Institute procured the yoga kit and reading material from Ministry Ayush etc. and distributed the same to all participating employees.

  • Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Principals and Teachers was organized from 4-5 June, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences committed against children and provision under POCSO Act, 2012; develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act to protect child rights; and discuss the problems encountered in the implementation of the Act and skills required for protection of victims and sexual violence and child witness of sexual offences. Forty nine participants attended the Workshop.

Three Parental Workshops on creating a Conducive Environment for Enhancing Learning and Behavioural Conduct during Adolescent/ various Academic and Psychosocial Issues of Children were organized on 8 June, 2018 at Guwahati, 18 June, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore and 28 June, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: develop an understanding about the needs of adolescence and holistic development of the adolescent children; and help parents and teachers to help their children to cope up with the physical, emotional and mental changes during this period for optimum development. In all, one hundred & sixty participants attended these workshops.
  • Sensitization Programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was organized from 11-12 June, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide guidance and awareness about the various schemes, policies and laws for the education and safety of the girl child; sensitize and train the functionaries as catalysts for social change and to mobilize the community for its engagement for improving the CSR, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) and enrolment & retention of girl child in schools; provide information and training for better inter-sectoral and inter-institutional convergence at district/block/grass-root levels; and orient the trainers about planning process of preparation of district action plan & advocacy campaign for social and behaviour change. Fifty three participants attended the Programme.
  • Orientation Training on Counselling Techniques for Counsellors and Social Workers of Child Care Institutions was organized from 11-12 June, 2018 by headquarters at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: orient the participants to develop an understanding of the needs of children in terms of their care and protection especially Child Psychology and related issues; facilitate them to identify and analyze the problems of children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with law; and prepare them to effectively deal with the children in a child-friendly way.   • Skill Training on Community Mobilization, Advocacy, IEC Campaign on Issues Relating to Child Development was organized from 11-15 June, 2018 by headquarters at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept and importance of community mobilization, participation, advocacy, awareness and IEC campaign; develop skills on techniques and methods of community mobilization, advocacy and awareness campaign; and strengthen the skills of participants on eliciting community participation using various techniques for the effective implementation of ICDS programme. Thirty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Six Sensitization Programmes on Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal Act, 2013 were organized from 12-14 June, 2018 (forenoon & Afternoon) at Headquarters with the main objectives to: sensitizing the participants to aspects related to addressing complaints regarding sexual harassment and spreading awareness about gender-related issues and functioning of the internal Complaints Committee. In all, 202 participants attended the Workshop.
  • Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012 for Representatives of NGOs was organized from 14-15 June, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge of the participants about salient features of POCSO Act and Rules, 2012; sensitize the participants about the sexual offences being committed against children and consequent trauma faced by them; and develop an understanding of their role and problems encountered in implementation of the Act. Twenty nine participants attended the Workshop.
  • Review Meet on Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana – Common Application Software (PMMVY-CAS) was organized from 14-15 June, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: deliberate upon scheme implementation modalities ,fund flow and disbursal mechanism; list down problems experienced and other related issues in implementation of PMMVY along with the current status; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders for better implementation of the scheme effectively; and promote IEC activities for awareness generation and document and share best practices of States for improving health status of women and children. Thirty participants attended the review meet.
  • Two Orientation Training Programmes on Child Rights and Child Protection for the Functionaries of CCIs were organized from 18-22 June, 2018 at Regional Centres Lucknow and Bengaluru with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act; discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children, and, evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS. In all, eighty three participants attended these training programmes.
  • Two Master Trainers Programmes on Child Protection were organized from 18-29 June 2018 at Regional Centres Guwahati and Lucknow with the main objectives to: orient the Master Trainers about the provisions of JJ system and ICPS; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders; discuss the policies, schemes and legislations concerning children; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for child protection; describe implementing strategies under ICPS; orient them on research and documentation, financial rules, audit & office procedures; and discuss innovative and good practices adapted by States on Child Protection. In all, forty eight participants attended these Master Trainers programme.
  • Two Consultative Meets on Support Mechanism available for the Cause of Domestic Workers were organized from 18-19 June, 2018 & 19-22 June, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the needs of adolescents through their developmental cycle; develop an understanding about gender discrimination and its implications on overall development and rights of adolescent girls; apprise the participants about various Government policies, programme, legislations and initiatives for holistic development of adolescent girls; and evolve strategies of intervention for empowerment of adolescent girls. In all, forty participants attended these consultative meets.
  • Training Programme on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace for Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized from 20-22 June, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: aware the participants about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013; appraise the modalities, mechanisms and procedure of redressal under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act; and build an appropriate environment for women at workplace. Twelve participants attended the training programme.
  • Induction Training for Counselors and Case Workers of One Stop Centres was organized on 25 June, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants to Constitutional and legal provisions for women; provide information on implementation of the OSC scheme and enhance their knowledge and skills in providing medico-legal and psychosocial support to aggrieved women and redress their problems under one roof. Thirty six participants attended the programme.
  • Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized from 25 June - 24 July 2018 at Regional Centre Bangaluru with the main objectives to: orient the CDPOs/ACDPOs to various components of ICDS scheme; enable them to understand their own role, as well as the roles and responsibilities of other functionaries of the scheme; equip them with adequate knowledge and skills for providing the job training to peripheral workers of the scheme; and facilitate them to develop skill necessary for administration and management on the ICDS scheme.   • Vertical Training Programme of Block Level Anganwadi Services Scheme (ASS) Functionaries for Quality Improvement in Anganwadi Services was organized from 25 -29 June 2018 by Regional Centre Bengaluru at Kerela with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a Master Trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS Services; and work jointly and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services. Fifty participants attended the training programme.
  • Two Refresher Training Courses for CDPOs/ACDPOs were organized from 25-29 June, 2018 at Regional Centres Lucknow and Guwahati with the main objectives to: review the implementation of restructured & strengthened ICDS programme in the State with regard to its various aspects; provide a forum for sharing of experiences in implementing ICDS programme; apprise CDPOs/ ACDPOs about the recent developments and trends in ICDS programme; update their knowledge in the areas of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; and sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills.   • Master Trainers Programme on Child Protection was organized from 30thJuly – 10th August 2018 at Bengaluru with the main objectives to: Sensitize and orient participants to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and its Rules 2016; develop clarity and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of members of JJBs and different personnel involved in the implementation of the Act; facilitate sharing of best practices for strengthening implementation of the Juvenile Justice Act; provide an overview of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS); understand the role of different stakeholders as provided in the Act; create an understanding of the concept of rehabilitation and social reintegration and to enable effective assessment of options; and deliberate means of facilitate the speedy disposal of cases.   • Sensitization Programme on BBBP for ICDS officials was organized from 2-3 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: sensitize the ICDS functionaries to gender disparity with particular focus on discrimination against girl child; familiarize the ICDS officials with different components of BBBP scheme; enable them to integrate BBBP initiative within the ICDS programme and to mobilize the community for improvement in child sex ration (CSR); and plan and implement advocacy campaigns for social and behavior change.   • Training on Fund Raising Techniques and Resource Management for Voluntary Organizations was organized from 16-18 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: acquaint the representatives of voluntary organizations on fundraising techniques; impart knowledge on internal control and accounting system, income tax rules and other financial procedures for effective utilization of funds and resources; and orient them about ways and means of resource mobilization from various sources and methods of effective management. Fourteen participants attended the training.
  • Sensitization Training programme on Nutrition and Food Safety for Functionaries of CCIs was organized from 18-20 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop an understanding of safe food handling practices highlighting its importance in nutrition wellbeing; orient the participants to the food safety measures in prevention of food contamination; get an insight into food adulteration and the laws regulating the food safety; and discuss the role of CCIs functionaries in maintaining food safety and hygiene practices in CCIs. Twenty eight participants attended the training.
  • Training Programme on Planning and Designing a Project Proposal for Executives of Voluntary Organizations was organized from 25-27 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop a perspective on the need and importance of a project; enhance knowledge base and skills of the participants to the techniques of planning, designing and presenting effective project proposals; develop skills in cost estimation and working out mechanism for monitoring and sustainability for a project; and analyse pitfalls in planning and designing project proposals. Eighteen participants attended the training.
  • Orientation Training on Implementation of Juvenile Justice (care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for Members of Juvenile Justice Boards was organized from 30-31 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: review the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in the States; discuss the issues, challenges and gaps in the care, protection, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with law; and come up with suggestions for structural and functional improvement in the child protection system.   • Skill Training on ECCE for Pre-primary school Officials was organized from 4-6 July, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: familiarize Pre-primary school officials to the conceptual framework of ECCE and ECCE Policy 2013; orient them on key child care behaviors; and facilitate participants to incorporate best child care practices in the existing Pre-primary set up for strengthening the ECCE component.   • Sensitization Programme for Members of SJPUs and Probation Officers on J.J. System and ICPS was organized from 9-11 July, 2018 with the main objectives to: orient the participants on UNCRC and Constitutional safeguards for children; enable them to develop an understanding of the Juvenile Justice System; create clarity and understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the implementation of the Act; and ensure speedy disposal of cases and orient them to the main features of ICPS: its components and approaches.   • Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized from 2-31 July, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: Orient the trainee CDPOs/ ACDPOs about ICDS Programme– its philosophy, objectives, package of services and beneficiaries with respect to restructured and strengthened ICDS and New Who Child Growth Standards, MCP card, schemes of SABLA & IGMSY; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-a-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision, and management of ICDS project; discuss with them the recent developments and thrusts in ICDS programme; share with them the need, importance and strategies for convergence of services at various levels of implementation; develop their requisite skills required for guiding grass roots level functionaries in preschool education, health & nutrition and community participation; and equip them with knowledge for effective leadership, supportive supervision and management of ICDS Projects.   • Skill Training Course for ICDS functionaries on Care of Children under Two was organized from 30 July – 3 August 2018 with the main objectives to: enhance the technical knowledge on overall development of children under two years of age; build the counselling skills on exclusive breastfeeding and complementary feeding; practice IYCF counselling with emphasis on correct positioning, helping mothers to breast feed through clinical practice; learn the skills for early detection of disability among children and learn activities for overall development of the child.   • Training of Master Trainers on Child Protection was organized from 16-27 July, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the Master Trainers about different provisions of JJ System & ICPS; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders;discuss the policies, schemes and legislations concerning children; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for child protection; describe implementing strategies under ICPS; orient them on research & documentation, financial rules, audit & office procedures; and discuss innovative & good practices adopted by States on Child Protection.   • Orientation Training for Stakeholders of J.J System & ICPS on Child Protection was organized from 23-25 August, 2018 at Andaman & Nicobar Island by Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the Stakeholders to the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and its Rules, 2016 vis-à-vis ICPS; to create clarity and understanding among the participants regarding their role in implementation of the JJ Act & ICPS; and to enable them to deal with the children softly and sensitively by adopting a child friendly approach.   • Orientation Training on Child Rights & Protection for the Functionaries of Child Care Institutions was organized from 27-31 August 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012; discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children, and, evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS.   • Orientation Programme for Statistical Assistants on Management Information System in ICDS was organized from 6-10 August, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants on the revised MIS in ICDS; acquaint them of their role in the monitoring of achievements and goals; and equip them with skills in data management and analysis.   • Orientation Meeting for Nodal Officers Dealing with Training of Anganwadi Services Functionaries was organized from 20 - 21 August, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: To familiarize the Nodal Officers about recent developments in Anganwadi Services under Umbrella ICDS; analyze the problems hindering success in Anganwadi Services implementation; discuss about the strategies for making effective training plan for Anganwadi Services functionaries; and document best practices of States/UTs with regard to implementation of Anganwadi Services/ECCE for achieving nutrition and child development related outcomes. Twenty five participants attended the training programme.
  • Skill Training for CDPOS on PMMVY-CAS Portal, Revised MIS, Rapid Reporting System and Data Management in ICDS was organized from 6-10 August, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: Familiarize the participants on the importance and use of PMMVY-CAS Portal; appraise them with the importance of ICDS-CAS; update trainees on the New Management Information System; and to orient trainees on use and importance of effective data management.   • Sensitization Training on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was organized from 13-14 August 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: sensitize and train the functionaries as catalysts for social change and to mobilize the community for its engagement for improving the CSR, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) and enrolment & retention of girl child in schools; provide information and training for better inter-sectoral and inter-institutional convergence at district/block/grass-root levels through cross learning; and orient the trainers about planning process of advocacy campaign for social and behaviour change.   • Orientation Training on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 for Govt. Officials was organized from 1-3 August 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitise the Participants on locus and manifestation of gender violence; discuss policies and legislative measures to curb atrocities against women specially at work place; analyze the problem and work out strategies for addressing the problem of sexual harassment of women at work place; and discuss existing mechanisms/ support services and provide suggestions for strengthening them. Thirty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Principals and Teachers was organized from 2-3 August 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences committed against children and provision under POCSO Act, 2012; develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act to protect child rights; and discuss the problems encountered in the implementation of the Act and skills required for protection of victims and sexual violence and child witness of sexual offences. Fifty two participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training Programme on Child Rights and Child Protection for District Child Protection Officers and Functionaries of District Child Protection Society (DCPS) was organized from 6-10 August 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: provide in depth understanding of ICPS programme framework and the respective roles and responsibilities of District Child Protection Society; orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection; unable them to understand service delivery mechanisms and legal provisions; create an understanding of the Good Child Protection Practices including various legislations, policies and programmes etc.; and facilitate them in effectively discharging their duties. Fifty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Consultation Meet on Safety and Security of Women in Public Places was organized from 9-10 August 2018 Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: discuss the nature, causes and consequences of safety and security threats to school going girls and working women; discuss the safety and security measures for women; discuss the role of various stakeholders for promoting safety and security of girls and women in public places; and work out strategy for safe and secure environment for women in public places. Forty nine participants attended the training programme.
  • Refresher Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized from 27-31 August 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: review the implementation of restructured & strengthened ICDS programme in the State with regard to its various aspects; provide a forum for sharing of experiences in implementing ICDS programme; apprise CDPOs/ ACDPOs about the recent developments and trends in ICDS programme; update their knowledge in the areas of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; and sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills. Fifteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Training on Protection of Children against Sexual Offences POCSO Act, 2012 was organized from 30-31 August 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the gender based violence and rights of children; apprise the participants of the salient features of the ‘Protection of Children from Sexual Offences’ (POCSO) Act and its Rules 2012; and orient them about the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders in implementing the Act. Thirty seven participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training Programme for Superintendents of Child Care Institutions was organized from 1 – 3 August 2018 at Regional Centre Bangaluru with the main objectives to: Orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; Enable them to understand salient features of JJ Act 2015 and POCSO Act (2012); Discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children in CCIs; Evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms; and Apprise them about the functional management of CCIs. Twenty nine participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Workshop on Early Childhood Care Education and Development (ECCED) for Anganwadi Service Scheme (ASS) Functionaries of ICDS was organized from 20-21 August, 2018 at Karnataka by Regional centre Bangaluru with the main objectives to: discuss the challenges in ECCDE in the context of ECE policy; review the skills needed in implementation of ECCE in the light of restructured ICDS; build the capacity of ASS functionaries to guide the grass root level functionaries on effective implementation growth monitoring, SNP and ECCE; and orient the participants on importance of convergence and Coordination. Seventy four participants attended the training programme.

  • Orientation Training on Implementation of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for Members of Juvenile Justice Boards was organized from 20-21 August, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: review the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in the States; discuss the issues, challenges and gaps in the care, protection, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with law; and come up with suggestions for structural and functional improvement in the child protection system. Eighteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Child Mental Health for Teachers of KVS/NVS was organized was organized from 28-30 August 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on issues related to child mental health; familiarize the participants with the learning and behavioral problems of children; develop their skills in identification of these problems; and enable the participants to develop a strategy for seeking timely intervention for children with problems from specialized agencies.   • Orientation Training on Adoption Regulations, 2016 for Protection Officers (Non- Institutional Care) under ICPS was organized from 29-31 August 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: orient the participants regarding different provisions related to children in need of care and protection under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015; familiarize the participants regarding Adoption Regulations, 2016; and discuss the role of protection officers (non –institutional care) under ICPS in implementation of Adoption Regulation, 2107.   • Awareness Campaign on Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013 was organized on 30 August 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: aware the participants about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 appraise the modalities, mechanisms and procedure of redressal under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act; and build an appropriate environment for women at workplace. Sixty participants attended the training programme.
  • Skill Training on Preparation of Low cost ECE/PSE material for CDPOs/Supervisors was organized from 6-10 August, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: sensitize CDPOs/Supervisors on the importance of the TLMs in the Early Childhood Care and Development of children; provide hands on experience on preparing TLM which is appropriate to foster all round development among children; and sensitize participants on the value of preparing TLM which are prepared from Low cost/ no cost locally available resources. Forty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Parental workshop on “Enhancing Healthy Parenting Skills” was organized on 13 August 2018 at Dispur by Regional Centre Guwhati with the main objectives to: orient the parents about the normal growth and development of children; and equip parents with tips of healthy parenting skills to deal with their children during childhood and adolescent period. Ninety six participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 for the officials of Social Welfare Department/ WCD Departments was organized from 23-24 August, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: sensitize the members of ICC and other officials to the nature and trends of sexual harassment in work places; orient the participants to the salient features and provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the relevant rules; make them aware about the modalities, mechanisms and procedure of redressal under the Act; and apprise the participating members of the Committees and other officials about their roles and responsibilities. Nineteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Job Training Course for Supervisors was organized from 27 August –27 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: orient the Supervisors to various components of ICDS scheme; make them understand their role and roles of other functionaries of the project as well as other staff of the block; equip them to provide on the job orientation and guidance to the AWWs as and when needed; and help them acquire knowledge and information to enable them to develop necessary supervisory skills. Twenty seven participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Programme on Combating Violence against Women and Girls for College/ University Teachers was organized from 27 – 31 August, 2018 at Darjeeling, West Bengal by Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: develop clear perspective among participants about gender based violence; provide insight on the policies, existing support services and legal safeguards for women and girls to curb the problem; build capacities to provide services to survivors of violence including counselling , livelihood and rehabilitation ; and evolve strategies for combating violence against women and children. Important Activities
  • The National Nutrition Week was observed by the Institute at its Headquarters and Regional Centres from 1-7 September, 2018. During this week, various activities were undertaken, which included: visit to AWC; activities at Child Care Centre i.e. fancy dress competition on smart eating food; healthy recipe competition by mothers at CCC; community counselling session on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Practices in Aanganwadi Centre; talk on health issues etc.
  • The Institute celebrated Hindi Pakhwada from 1-14 September, 2018 which included activities such as: dictation competition, translation and Hindi knowledge competitions etc.
  • The Institute also observed Swachhata hi Sewa from 15 September to 2 October, 2018. Various activities were undertaken during the swachhta pakhwada which included: cleanliness drive within the Institute; activities for children in CCC on theme swachhta; Shram Dan in Institute's campus; swachhta quiz; slogan and poster competition; rally in Shahpur Jat; forming swachta human chain; and 'Swachh Evam Swacth Bachpan' programme in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
  • Other than above, senior officers of NIPCCD, Headquarters and Regional Centres visited various districts of Gujarat to monitor the Capacity Building Programme of Elected Women Representatives as well.

Twenty five participants attended the training programmes.

  • Sensitization Programme on Prevention of Child abuse for principals/ vice principals of Government schools was organized from 12-14 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: sensitize the Principals and Vice Principals of Government Schools to the issues of Child Abuse with reference to occurrence, types and consequences; make them aware about legislative measures pertaining to protection of children from abuse; and enable them to take appropriate action for preventing and addressing the issue of child abuse in schools.   • Orientation Course on Management of Children Home/Child Care Institutions for Functionaries of Child Care Institutions was organized from 24-26 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop adequate understanding of various aspects of management of Child Care Institutions; sensitize them to developmentally appropriate early childhood care and development services particularly in relation to children in need of care and protection and children in conflict with law; facilitate them to develop viable strategies to render quality care to institutionalized children; and help the participants to make qualitative assessment of the services provided to children in the Child Care Institutions. Thirty six participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Vertical Training Programme of Block Level ICDS Functionaries for Quality Improvement in ICDS Programme was organized from 24-28 September, 2018 at Sikkim by Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS services; and work jointly and formulate action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of services.   • Two Workshops on Child Related Issues were organized on 7 and 11 September 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on learning and behavioral problems of children; enable them to identify children with learning and behavior problems; and provide a platform to share views and experiences in dealing with children. In all, sixty three participants attended these workshops.
  • Orientation Programme on Child Protection Issues for Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized from 17-19 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: orient the participants on constitutional/ legal provision and issues relating to the care and protection of children; orient the participants on various policy and programmes initiatives of Government relating to child protection; and discuss their role in child protection related issues. Twenty participants attended the training programme.
  • Two Job Training Courses for CDPOs/ACDPOs were organized from 17 September- 17 October 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru and from 4 Sept-5 Oct, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the CDPOs/ACDPOs to various components of ICDS scheme; enable them to understand their own role, as well as the roles and responsibilities of other functionaries of the scheme; equip them with adequate knowledge and skills for providing the job training to peripheral workers of the scheme; and facilitate them to develop skill necessary for administration and management on the ICDS scheme. In all, fifty four participants attended these courses. Orientation Programme for Social Workers and Counsellors on Working with Children was organized from 24-26 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Bangaluru with the main objectives to: orient the participants on child rights and protection issues in the Indian context; enable the participants to develop understanding on various issues concerning children in need of care and protection and in conflict with law, the existing Juvenile Justice System and the prevailing laws concerning children; orient the features of ICPS, its components and the role of various stakeholders under the JJ system and CPS and their inter-linkages; orient about their roles and responsibilities in ICPS; and build capacities to develop and implement child protection plan at the district level. Thirty participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Programme on Women Empowerment for Functionaries of Government and Voluntary Organizations was organized from 24-28 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: familiarize the participants with the policy and program of women; sensitize the participants on gender issues and how to incorporate them in social empowerment process; discuss the address the women need towards health, reproductive rights, and nutrition, education; and share the experiences of voluntary organizations in social empowerment of women. Thirty five participants attended the training programme.
  • Training Programme on Women Empowerment through Start up India Campaign for Voluntary Organizations was organized from 5-7 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop an understanding about the Start-up India Campaign; enable the participants to assist startup actions for women empowerment; and organize mentorship programmes in collaboration with government and private organizations to foster innovation. Twenty three participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Adoption Regulations, 2017 for Protection Officers (Non-Institutional Care) under ICPS was organized from 10-12 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: orient the participants regarding different provisions related to children in need of care and protection under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015; familiarize the participants regarding Adoption Regulations, 2016; and discuss the role of protection officers (non –institutional care) under ICPS in implementation of Adoption Regulation, 2107. Fourteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Child Mental Health for Teachers of KVS/NVS was organized from 12-14 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on issues related to child mental health; familiarize the participants with the learning and behavioural problems of children; develop their skills in identification of these problems; and enable the participants to develop a strategy for seeking timely intervention for children with problems from specialized agencies. Twenty nine participants attended the programme.
  • Orientation Training Programme for Voluntary Organizations on Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition was organized from 18-20 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on issues related to maternal and child health and nutrition; appraise the participant with health and nutrition status of women and Children in India; and develop the strategies for improvement of maternal and child health and nutrition. Thirteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Training Programme on Management of Children with Special Needs for the Functionaries of CCIs was organized from 24-26 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: orient on present scenario of children with special needs (CWSN); discuss on various guideline / legislations / schemes for children with special needs; develop competency among participants for identification, functional assessment of children with special need in CCIs; build competencies of participants to manage diverse needs of children with special needs; and develop strategies for inclusion of children with special need. Nineteen participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Orientation Training on Implementation of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for Members of Juvenile Justice Boards was organized from 27-28 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: review the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in the States; discuss the issues, challenges and gaps in the care, protection, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in conflict with law; and come up with suggestions for structural and functional improvement in the child protection system. Eleven participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Management of Malnutrition for Functionaries of ICDS/NHM and Civil Society Organizations of Western States was organized from 17-20 September 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitize participants about severity and magnitude of malnutrition among women and children with emphasis on tribal community; orient them about programmes and schemes of Government under NHM/ICDS with special reference Malnutrition/Early childhood disabilities; develop coordination efforts/skills in convergence of Health Services/ICDS; and develop a strategy on effective management of joint training/home visits/joint counseling for positive behavioral change in families. Thirty four participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme for School Officials on Child Protection Issues was organized from 19-20 September 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: familiarize School Officials to the concept of Child Protection; orient them on key child protection issues within school like safety security of children in school, sexual abuse, mental health issues, gender issues: and make them familiar with the existing child protection mechanism e.g. ICPS, policy and programmes for child protection, acts/ legal provisions for child protection. Nineteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Capacity Building Programme for Elected Women Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions was organized from 24-26 September 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: deliberate upon issues related to empowerment of women and functioning of PRIs; discuss schemes and legislations for women, children and other marginalized groups; describe processes of participatory planning in local governance; appraise significance of convergence and linkages to obtain better outcomes for development; enable women to identify their own leadership potential to contribute effectively as change agents. Thirty participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Child Rights & Protection for the Functionaries of CCIs (Superintendent, Case Workers, Probation Officer, Welfare Officer, Coordinator, etc) was organized from 24-28 September 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act; and discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children; and evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS. Fifteen participants attended the orientation programme.
  • Sensitization Training on Programme on MCP Card and Growth Monitoring for Functionaries of VOs was organized from 18-20 September, 2018 at Headqaurters with the main objectives to: orient participants on health and nutrition issues linked to MCP Card, its usage and implementation; and equip them with necessary skills to use new WHO growth chart, and joint MCP card in ICDS. Twenty three participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation-cum-Review Meeting on BBBP was organized on14 September, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide information and training for better inter-sectoral and inter-institutional convergence at district/block/grass-root levels; and orient the trainers about planning process of preparation of district action plan & advocacy campaign for social and behaviour change. Forty seven participants attended the review meet.
  • Orientation Training on Juvenile Justice( Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 and Model Rules, 2016 for ICPS Functionaries was organized from 10-12 September, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: enhance the knowledge of the ICPS functionaries about salient features of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016; develop an understanding of their role and responsibilities in implementation of Act and Rules; and discuss with them about various critical issues being faced by them in implementation of Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Child) Act, 2015 and Model Rules, 2016.   • Sensitization Programme on POCSO Act, 2012 for Elected Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions was organized from 27-28 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru by Headquarters with the main objectives to: apprise the members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) about sexual offences against children and salient features of the 'Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act; develop an understanding of their role in protecting children against child sexual abuse and supporting child victims and their families; and evolve strategies for elimination of sexual offences at the community level with support of PRIs. Forty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Programme for PFOs and PMP of One Stop Centres was organized from 04-07 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru by Headquarters with the main objectives to: build sensitivity to work with women in distress; orient the participants to legal provisions for women; provide information on implementation of the OSC scheme; and enhance knowledge on providing medico-legal support to aggrieved women. Fifty participants attended the training programme.
  • Training programme on Swach Evam Swasth Bachpan was organized from 26-27 September, 2018 at Himachal Pradesh by Headquarters with the main objectives to: optimum health, optimum nutrition and optimum environment for safe and healthy childhood; develop insight of participants regarding assessment of nutritional status of children along with practical session on growth monitoring weighing and plotting of children; and apprise the participants regarding Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Bal Swachhta Mission. Thirty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Prevention of Trafficking of Women and Children was organized from 05-07 September, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore by Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the nature and magnitude of trafficking of women and children; share and review constitutional provisions and legal framework to safeguarding women; discuss and analyze the role of Government and NGOs to address the problem of trafficking; and evolve a strategy for prevention, protection and rehabilitation of women/child survivors of trafficking. Nineteen participants attended the sensitization programme.
  • Skill Training on ECCE for Anganwadi Services Scheme under umbrella ICDS was organized from 24-28 September, 2018 at Odissa by Headquarters with the main objectives to: strengthen knowledge, understanding and skills of the participants on ECCE; enhance the understanding of participants on the philosophy, principles and components of the National ECCE Policy, National Curriculum Framework and Quality Standards; strengthen knowledge, understanding and skills of the participants on the implementation of the state specific Annual ECCE Curriculum ; orient participants on the diversity issues and strategies to handle diversity in the classroom; enhance knowledge, understanding and skills of participants on enhancing community and parents partnerships and developing linkages with the existing services; and Strengthen knowledge, understanding and skills of participants with the mentoring and monitoring skills to ensure effective implementation of the Annual Curriculum. Thirty participants attended the skill training programme.
  • One day Orientation Programme for newly recruited Supervisors of Odisha was organized on 29 September, 2018 at Odisha by Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient participants about the e-learning programme for Anganwadi services under Umbrella ICDS; provide hands on experience on e-learning programme to the Supervisors; bridge the learning gap and build their confidence, to use e-learning mode of training; identify master trainers in e – learning programme for future. Important Activities
  • Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, organised Women of India Exhibition at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Art, from 26th October- 04th November, 2018 at New Delhi. The exhibition focused on generating awareness among the public on the benefits of organic products aiming at sustainable healthy life. It also encouraged grass root-level women entrepreneurs to participate and sell their organic products. During the exhibition, women entrepreneurs gathered information on preparation of organic product, health and environmental advances of organic food, and many other benefits of organic products from their counterparts who participated in the exhibition.

  • Orientation Training on Adolescence Issues for the Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations was organized from 10-12 October, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop an understanding of the issues relating adolescent health and family life education including HIV/AIDS; discuss the existing strategies on adolescent health and development; enable the participants to develop skills for effective communication; and facilitate the participants to develop holistic programmes/ project proposals for adolescent development. Fourteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Vertical Learning Programme of Stakeholders for Strengthening ICDS Services was organized from 8-12 October, 2018 at Uttarakhand by Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and Supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS Services; work jointly with health department and formulate joint action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of ICDS services. Thirty seven participants attended the training programme.

  • Four Refresher Courses for CDPOs/ACDPOs were organized from 22-26 October, 2018, 29 October –2 November, 2018, 22-26 October 2018 and 08-12 October, 2018 at Regional Centres Lucknow, Guwahati, Bengaluru and Indore respectively with the main objectives to: review the implementation of restructured & strengthened ICDS programme in the State with regard to its various aspects; provide a forum for sharing of experiences in implementing ICDS programme; apprise CDPOs/ ACDPOs about the recent developments and trends in ICDS programme; update their knowledge in the areas of early childhood care and development including nutrition and health care; and sharpen their communication, counseling and managerial skills. In all, sixty nine participants attended these training programmes.
  • Induction Training of Supervisors was organized from 29 October-2 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: appraise the newly deputed supervisors with the functioning of anganwadi services scheme so that they implement the scheme accordingly; and give knowledge and information about Anganwadi Services Scheme.   • Training for NGOs on Prevention of Trafficking of Women and Children was organized from 3-5 October, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: acquaint the NGO personnel’s on the nature, process, magnitude and consequences of trafficking of women and children in the region; orient them on Ujjawala Scheme and the role of NGOs in prevention as well as rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked women and children; make the participants understand about the existing legal provision and support services of trafficked women and children; and enable them to understand the need and importance of networking and developing linkages of the stakeholders to combat trafficking in their region. Twenty six participants attended the training programme.
  • Vertical Training Programme of Block Level Functionaries of Anganwadi Services Scheme for Quality Improvement was organized from 9-12 October, 2018 at Keonjhar District, Odisha by Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: enhance the skills of CDPOs and supervisors to act as a master trainer for providing continuing education to AWWs at project level; provide inputs to improve knowledge and skills of all ICDS functionaries at project level for quality improvement in ICDS services; and work jointly and formulate action plan at project level for quality improvement of delivery of services.   • Orientation Training for the Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations of High Burden Districts on Maternal and Child Health/Nutrition Issues was organized from 8-12 October, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: orient the functionaries about need and importance of health/nutritional counseling; equip the functionaries with the skills in counseling on maternal and child health/nutrition; and aware them about various programmes and policies of government in relation to maternal and child health. Seventeen participants attended the training programme.
  • Parental Workshop on Parental Support and Responsibility for Academic Achievement of Adolescent Children was organized from 11 October, 2018 at Panikheti, Guwahati by Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: develop understanding among the parents about the needs and responsibilities towards their children; and acquaint the parents about appropriate parenting skills so as to enable them to boost their children’s academic performance. Two hundred eighty six participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Training on Establishing and Managing of a Voluntary Organization was organized from 29 October–2 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: share the concept and relevance of voluntary action and social development in India; orient the participants about setting up a voluntary organization, process of Institution building, administration and management; help the participants to learn planning and designing project proposals; and orient about ways and means of resource mobilization from various sources, effective financial management and good governance in a voluntary organization. Seventeen participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Programme on Management of Institutions for Superintendents of Women Institutions was organized from 3-5 October 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the conceptual frame work of Women Rights and Protection; enable them to understand service delivery mechanisms and legal provisions; and create understanding of Management of Institutions for Women. Thirty two participants attended the training programme.

  • Consultation Meet on Safety and Security of Women in Public Places was organized from 23-24 October 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: deliberate the nature, causes and consequences of safety and security threats to women and girls in public places; discuss safety and security measures in place and good practices for the safety of women and girls in public places; delineate role of various stakeholders including law enforcement agencies for prevention of crimes against women and girls; and work out strategy for ensuring safe and secure environment for women and girls in public places. Sixty four participants attended the consultative meet.
  • Orientation Programme on Combating Violence against Women for Functionaries of Government and Voluntary Organizations was organized from 29-31 October 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop clear perspective of domestic and gender based violence, its causes, manifestations and consequences; discuss sexual violence and trafficking of women and girls; enable them to acquire knowledge of legislation for social protection; workout community-based and institutional strategies for combating gender based violence and provide a forum for sharing the experiences of participants working on gender based violence. Seventy participants attended the training programme.
  • Training Programme for Police Officials, ICDS Functionaries and NGOs on Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA), 2005 was organized from 03-05 October, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: create awareness about the provisions of PWDV Act, 2005; and the roles and responsibilities of Police Officials and other stakeholders. Forty participants attended the training programme.
  • Skill Training on ECCE for ICDS Functionaries was organized from 29-31 October, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: develop a better understanding of the concepts of early childhood years, ECD, ECCD, ECCE and linkages with one another among the trainees; make them understand the issues relating to ECCE in the light of national policy of ECCE and restructured ICDS, and enable the Instructors to impart effective training on ECCE and guide the AWWs and Supervisors for proper delivery of ECCE programme to ensure optimum early childhood development in children. Twenty four participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Programme for Functionaries of Voluntary Organisations on Monitoring and Evaluation of Developmental Programmes for Women and Children was organized from 8-12 October, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants to the concept and importance of monitoring and evaluation in social development programmes; apprise the participants to the latest methods/techniques of monitoring and evaluation of the programmes; and enhance the skills of participants for quality monitoring and supervision of women and child development programmes. Nineteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Two, Skill Training Programmes for ICDS Functionaries on Community Mobilization, Advocacy, Awareness and IEC Campaign on Issues Relating to Child Development was organized at Headquarters from 22-26 October, 2018 and from 29 October – 2 November, 2018 with the main objective to: orient the participants to the concept and importance of community mobilization, participation, advocacy, awareness and IEC campaign; develop skills on techniques and methods of community mobilization, advocacy and awareness campaign; strengthen the skills of participants on eliciting community participation using various techniques for the effective implementation of ICDS programme. In all, forty five participants attended these training programmes.
  • Orientation Workshop for the Officials of Judiciary, Police & other Stakeholders involved in the implementation of Juvenile Justice Act in Jammu & Kashmir was organized from 10-12 October, 2018 at Jammu & Kashmir by Headquarters with the main objectives to: discuss the conceptual framework of child protection; share information about the implementation of various legislations concerning children and revised Child Protection Services and; orient the stakeholders about their role & responsibilities under various laws relating to child protection, and, enable them to deal with the children softly and sensitively by adopting a child friendly approach. One hundred and forty two participants attended the training programme.
  • Review Meet of State Level Officials on Implementation of Anganwadi Services under Umbrella ICDS was organized on 31 October, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide a common platform for exchange of ideas concerning implementation of Anganwadi Services; share the constraints and challenges respect of implementation of Anganwadi Services; review the State Training Action Plans (STRAPs); share innovations and best practices of the State for wider dissemination; and analyse the problems hindering success in Anganwadi Services implementation. Twenty seven participants attended the review meet.

Important Activities
  • The MWCD celebrated “Hausla 2018” between 26th to 29th November, 2018 by hosting an inter CCI Festival for the children who reside in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) with the aim that it would provide an occasion to showcase the talents and provide them with a space to express their dreams and aspirations. Children participated in various events like Painting Competition, Debate Competition, Safe Neighborhood Project, Athletics Meet, Football and Chess Competition. About than 600 children from 18 States/UTs participated in the programme who had come from various child care institutions across the country. NIPCCD assisted MWCD in organising the events.

  • Job Training Course for CDPOs was organized from 1 November- 4 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: orient the CDPOs/ACDPOs to various components of ICDS scheme; make them understand their role and roles of other functionaries of the project as well as other staff of the block; equip them to provide on the job orientation and guidance to the AWWs and Supervisors as and when needed; and help them acquire knowledge and information to enable them to develop necessary supervisory skills. Nineteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Induction Training of Supervisors was organized from 12-16 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: appraise and give knowledge to newly deputed supervisors with the functioning of Anganwadi services scheme and its services.   • Orientation Programme on Mobilization and Management of Community Resources for Civil Society Organisations was organized from 12-16 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitize participants about the need to mobilize the community for development programmes; orient participants about community mobilization techniques; and discuss the importance of PLA activities for community involvement in development programmes. Eighty nine participants attended the training programme.
  • Skill Training on Counselling for Institutions Providing Care to Distressed Women was organized from 12-16 November, 2018 at Mumbai, Maharashtra by Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide insight into the manifestation of violence against women in India, existing policies, support services and legal safeguards for women; develop understanding about different approaches and types of counselling interventions for women in distress; and enhance counseling skills for providing psychosocial support to distressed women. Twenty three participants attended the training programme.
  • Job Training Course for CDPOs/ACDPOs was organized from 12 November – 11 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: orient the trainee CDPOs about ICDS programme - its philosophy, objectives, package of services and beneficiaries; familiarize them with their role and responsibilities vis-à-vis job responsibilities of other block functionaries in coordination, supervision and management of ICDS project; discuss with them the recent developments and thrusts in ICDS programme; share with them the need, importance and strategies for convergence of services at various levels of implementation; develop their requisite skills required for guiding grass roots level functionaries in preschool education, health & nutrition and community participation; and equip them with knowledge for effective leadership, supportive supervision and management of ICDS Projects; orient them on New WHO Growth Standards and use of MCP Cards orient participants about new schemes, orient participants on Strengthening and Restructuring of ICDS.   • Training for Master Trainers of Elected Women Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions was organized from 13-15 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: deliberate upon issues related to empowerment of women and children and functioning of PRIs; discuss flagship programmes of central and state government for women, children and marginalised groups; impart knowledge on legislations for the protection of the vulnerable; provide practical know-how to monitor asset creation and public works in the villages and process of participatory planning in local governance; discuss recent developments related to drive dairy firming and e-banking, cashless transactions, etc.; and enable women to identify their leadership potential to contribute effectively as change agents. Ten participants attended the training programme.
  • Awareness Generation Camp on Child Rights and Protection for School Children was organized on 14 November 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: discuss the problems and challenges faced by children to derive specific issues of child rights and protection to be focused; and aware the children on provisions of CRC and national initiatives for child rights and child protection including various legal instruments and services for child protection. Fifty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Parental Workshop on various Academic and Psychosocial Issues of Children was organized on 24 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: sensitize parents about various psychosocial issues children face; make parents familiar with the nature of various problems in children; and develop parent’s skill to play an active role in helping children to deal effectively with the various problems children face. Fifty one participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Implementation of Juvenile Justice (care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for Chairperson and Members of CWCs was organized from 26-27 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: review the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 in the States; discuss the issues, challenges and gaps in the care, protection, rehabilitation and reintegration of children in need of care and protection; and come up with suggestions for structural and functional improvement in the child protection system. Eighteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Holistic Development of Adolescent Girls and Family Life Education for Members and Functionaries of Nehru Yuva Kendras was organized from 26-28 November , 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on issues related to child mental health; familiarize the participants with the learning and behavioural problems of children, develop their skills in identification of these problems; and enable the participants to develop a strategy for seeking timely intervention for children with problems from specialized agencies.   • Capacity Building on Nutrition for functionaries of Anganwadi Service Scheme (DWCD, GOK) was organized from 26-28 November 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: orient the functionaries on the nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive programmes by the government; build skills in nutritional assessment, analysis and documentation; provide a forum to deliberate on challenges in the implementation of programmes; and analyze and debate various strategies to prevent and combat malnutrition among Children. Thirty participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training Programme on Counselling for Social Workers and counsellors of CCIs and DCPUs was organized from 26-30 November, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: orient the participants to principles, elements and stages of counseling; enable them to develop communication skills required in counseling process; acquaint them to various techniques of counseling for their use in their work situations; and make the participants aware regarding the ethics in counseling and in providing necessary relief to the children in need of care and protection, and CCIs traumatized children.   • Orientation Training Programme for School Teachers on Learning and Behavioural Problems was organized from 27-29 November, 2018 at Regional Centre, Lucknow with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on issues related to child mental health; familiarize the participants with the learning and behavioural problems of children, develop their skills in identification of these problems; and enable the participants to develop a strategy for seeking timely intervention for children with problems from specialized agencies.   • Workshop on Safety and Security of Girls in Schools was organized from 28-30 November, 2018 at Jharkhand sensitize the Participants on safety and security of school going girls; share government and non-government initiatives for safety of school girls; discuss the role of stakeholders in prevention of violence and protection of school going girls; and evolve strategies and interventions for ensuring safety of school going girls. Thirty two participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation workshop for NSS Coordinators on Child Protection Issues was organized from 28-30 November 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: orient the participants on constitutional and legal provisions and issues related to the care and protection of children; orient the participants on various policy and programme initiatives of Government relating to child protection; discuss their role in child protection related issues.   • Workshop on Implementation of Legislations related Children for Legal- cum- Probation Officers of DCPUs was organized from 3-5 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop understanding on various issues concerning children in need of care and protection and in conflict with law, the existing Juvenile Justice System and the prevailing laws concerning children; orient the participants regarding recent developments in child rights and child protection; and discuss the role of legal cum probation officers in implementation of various legislations.   • Parental Workshop on “Role of the Parents in Holistic Development of their Children” was organized on 10 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the objectives to: develop an understanding about the needs and holistic development of the children; and help parents to help their children to cope up with the physical, emotional and mental changes and demands during different stages for optimum development. One hundred eighty four participants attended the workshop.
  • Workshop on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Principals and Senior Teachers of Residential Schools of North Eastern Region was organized from 10-11 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants about the sexual offences being committed against children and consequent trauma faced by them; orient them to the POCSO Act, 2012 and the relevant rules; appraise the participants to the psycho-social needs of children with sexual abuse; and develop an understanding of their roles and responsibilities in implementation of the Act and prevention of child sexual abuse. Forty three participants attended the workshop.

  • Three Workshops on POCSO Act, 2012 for School Principals and Teachers were organized from 10 December, 2018; 11 December, 2018; 12 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Mohali with the main objectives to: share information about salient features of POCSO Act, 2012; develop an understanding of their role in implementation of the Act; discuss ways of communicating with children about sexuality and guarding against child sexual abuse (CSA) and; evolve ways and means to develop a strong system of initiating action against abusers of school-going children and preventive measures against child sexual abuse in educational institutions. In all, seventy four participants attended these workshops.
  • Three Orientation Programmes on RMK Loan Scheme was organized from 10-11 December, 2018; 12 -13 December, 2018 and 14 -15 December, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient to the concepts of micro-finance, SHG; income-generation activities; facilitate the understanding of management concepts like Finance, Portfolio and risk in the micro-finance, IGA; and provide them field experience on the micro-finance IGA; Social empowerment. In all, Forty one participants attended these training programmes.
  • Workshop for Police Officers on Critical Issues in Dealing with Victims of Child Sexual Abuse was organized from 13 -14 December, 2018 at Rajasthan by Headquarters with the main objectives to: review the handling of cases registered under POCSO Act, 2012; discuss field problems in cases under POCSO Act and evolving solutions thereafter; and strategies for effective coordination between police and other agencies implementing POCSO Act, 2012. Forty five participants attended the workshop.
  • Orientation Training on Combating Violence against Women and Girls was organized from 10-12 December, 2018 at Telangana by Headquarters with the main objectives to: develop clear perspective among participants about dynamics of gender based violence; provide insight on the governmental and non-governmental interventions to address the problem; strengthen capacities to understand and meet survivors needs and aspirations and to provide counseling, livelihood and rehabilitation services; and evolve strategies for preventing and responding to violence against women and children. Twenty two participants attended the orientation training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Micro-Finance and Income Generation through Micro Enterprise Development activities for Representatives of Voluntary Organizations was organized from 10-14 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: acquaint the participants about the concept of micro-finance and income generation activities; impart knowledge and skills on viable economic activities, credit, marketing and other supportive services for micro-finance; help the participants in understanding the role of NGOs as micro finance institutions for income generation activities; develop the skills of NGOs for effective financial management and reporting; and share the experiences of participants on the management of micro-enterprise. Nineteen participants attended the training programme.
  • Training Programme on Capacity Building of Functionaries of Voluntary Organizations on Conceptualizing and Executing a Project was organized from 10-14 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: share the concept and relevance of voluntary action as a response to local requirement; enable the participants to develop need based projects; enhance their knowledge base and skills in conceptualizing and executing a project; develop their skills in cost estimation and working out mechanisms for monitoring and sustainability of a project.   • Skill Training on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was organized from 11-12 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru by Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants about different provisions of the scheme; discuss the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders in the scheme; and deliberate and list out problems of PMMVY-Common Application System (CAS) MIS software being implemented in the scheme. Thirty seven participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Orientation Programme on Counselling for Functionaries of SWADHAR /Alp Awas Greh and Ujjwala Scheme was organized from 12-14 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: acquaint the trainees with essential elements of counselling; equip them with techniques of counselling; and facilitate participants to acquire skills of counselling and strengthen their overall abilities for effective delivery of services.   • Skill Training on Preparation of Low Cost ECE/PSE Material for CDPOs/Supervisors was organized from 12-14 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objectives to: acquaint the participants regarding importance of PSE and characteristic of a preschool education; implementation of theme- based curriculum; activities for physical, cognitive, psycho-social and emotional development of children; and preparation of low cost ECE/PSE material for CDPOs/Supervisors. Thirty four participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Civil Society Organizations was organized from 13-14 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the main objectives to: apprise the participants about objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and different component of Abhiyan; discuss role and responsibilities of voluntary organizations and ICDS functionaries in the Abhiyan; and enable the participants to undertake community mobilization initiatives for their involvement and participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Twenty participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Training on Child Protection for stakeholders working under JJ System & Child Protection Services was organized from 13-14 December, 2018 at Mohali by Headquarter with the main objectives to: enable the participants to develop understanding on present scenario of children in the context of child rights & protection; sensitize the participants on the JJ Act, POCSO Act vis-à-vis Child Protection Services; discuss the role of various stakeholders in effective implementation of laws & Child Protection Services. Twenty six participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitization Programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was organized from 17-18 December, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide guidance and awareness about the various schemes, policies and lows for the education and safety of the girl child; sensitize and train the functionaries as catalysts for social change and to mobilize the community for its engagement for improving the CSR, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) and enrollment & retention of girl child in schools; provide information and training for better inter-sectoral and inter- institutional convergence at district/block/grass-root levels; and orient the trainers about planning process of preparation of district action plan & advocacy campaign for social and behaviour change. Twenty five participants attended the training programme.
  • Master Trainer Workshop on Documentation in ICPS for ICPS Functionaries was organized from 17-18 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Mohali by Headquarters with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants to the significance of documentation in the Functioning of various ICPS structures; discuss with them about different forms of documentation that are required in ICPS; and familiarize them with various documentation techniques that are required for maintaining various forms of documentation. Thirty four participants attended the master trainers programme.
  • Skill Training on Preparation of Low Cost ECE/PSE Material for CDPOs/Supervisors was organized from 17-19 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: sensitize the participants on importance of ECE material for Early Childhood Care and Development of Children; provide a platform to share ideas and demonstrate various activities using available resources or discarded usable material for holistic development of preschool children. Twenty eight participants attended the skill training programme.
  • Orientation Workshop for Chairpersons and Members of CWCs was organized from 19-20 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Bengaluru with the main objectives to: develop understanding among the participants on the situation of children in India and challenges faced by children for their holistic development; sensitize and orient participants to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and JJ Rules 2016; orient the participants about the functioning of CWCs and the role and responsibilities of Chairperson and Members of CWCs; create an understanding of the concept of rehabilitation and social reintegration and to enable effective assessment of options; discuss relevance of non-Institutional Services under the Act to facilitate effective rehabilitation & social reintegration of children including difficulties faced by them; learn the role of different stakeholders as provided in the Act; and understand the mechanisms for speedy disposal of cases.   • Training on Leadership Development for Functionaries of Anganwadi Services under Umbrella ICDS was organized from 17-19 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Guwahati with the objectives to: develop skills among Anganwadi Services functionaries to influence and motivate the staff and other stakeholders; enhance understanding on significance of Team Work and Motivation to achieve better performance; and improve negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills among anganwadi services functionaries to lead the project effectively.   • Consultation Meet on Safety and Security of Women in Public Places was organized on 19 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Lucknow with the main objective to: discuss the issues and challenges of safety of women in public places; deliberate upon the role and responsibilities of the stakeholders in providing safe environment to women; and come up with recommendations and suggestions for safe public places for all. Thirty five participants attended the consultation meet.
  • Workshop on Gender Equality for Promoting Food and Nutrition Security was organized from 19-21 December, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: develop clear perspective among the participants about basic concept of gender equality and food and nutrition security; enable them to identify different dimensions of food and nutritional security and women’s role therein; share government and non-government initiatives towards gender equality and food security; and recommend priority interventions to ensure gender equality and thereby promoting food and nutrition security. Twenty two participants attended the workshop.
  • Sensitisation Programme on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for Representatives of Urban Local Bodies was organized from 20-21 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: apprise participants about objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; discuss role & responsibilities of representatives of urban local bodies; and sensitize participants for greater community involvement and participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Seventeen participants attended the training programme.
  • Orientation Training on Combating Violence against Women and Girls was organized from 26-28 December, 2018 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: develop perspective among participants about gender based violence; provide insight on the policies, existing support services and legal safeguards for women and girls; build capacities to provide services to survivors of violence including counselling, livelihood and rehabilitation; and evolve strategies for combating violence against women and children. Twenty five participants attended the training programme.
  • Sensitisation Programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao for Elected Women Representatives and Civil Society Organisations was organized from 27-28 December, 2018 at Regional Centre Indore with the main objectives to: orient participants on gender based violence; enable participants in making strategy for survival and safety of girl child; motivate participants to work towards girl’s education and participation. Twenty nine participants attended the training programme.
  • Review Meet of State Level Officials on Implementation of Anganwadi Services under Umbrella ICDS was organized on 28 December, 2018 at Jammu by Headquarters with the main objectives to: provide a common platform for exchange of ideas concerning implementation of Anganwadi Services; share the constraints and challenges in respect of implementation of Anganwadi Services; review the State Training Action Plans (STRAPs); share innovations and best practices of the State for wider dissemination; and analyse the problems hindering success in Anganwadi Services implementation. Fifty eight participants attended the review meet.
  • Orientation Training on Child Rights & Protection for the Functionaries of CCIs was organized from 31 December, 2018 – 4 January, 2019 at Headquarters with the main objectives to: orient the participants about the conceptual framework of Child Rights and Protection and ground realities; enable them to understand salient features of Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012; discuss their role and responsibilities under ICPS and challenges faced by them in providing quality services to children; and evolve strategies for networking, convergence and coordination mechanisms under ICPS. Thirty six participants attended the orientation training programme.
